Infection Control Course
Career Care Institute is offering an 8 Hour Infection Control Course on select Friday's throughout 2022.
To participate in this course, you must be a Dental Assistant, and advanced registration is required by filling in the form, calling or visiting the CCI Lancaster Campus.
Course Description
Course Hours: A minimum of 8 hours of instruction will be given that will include theory and practical experience. Successful completion of the course requires students to attend all hours.
This course introduces infection and biohazard control procedures necessary for the safe practice of dentistry. Topics include microbiology, chemical disinfectants, infectious diseases, OSHA standards, and applicable state laws. Students practice aseptic techniques and Universal Precautions, and they process and sterilize instruments.
At the completion of the course, the student will be emailed if they passed or failed the exam. If the student failed, they will be asked to retake the portion of the course they failed at a later date. If they pass, a weeks’ time will be required to create the certificate of completion. The certificate will be either mailed to the student residence or picked up in the Student Services Department, whichever the student has requested.
After course completion, it is imperative to never give your original certificate to anyone. Always make a copy for your employer. This course is approved for the RDA license requirement.
