Dental Assisting Program
Career Care Institute’s Dental Assisting program is designed to adequately prepare the graduate for an entry-level position in a dental office as a dental assistant. Students will learn how to function efficiently and successfully in most areas of dental assisting. Dental assistants typically work in dentist’s offices, group practice, dental specialty practice (endodontic, periodontics, prosthodontics, etc.), school clinics, laboratories, dental supply companies, and insurance companies, among many other options. On campuses where dental assisting is offered, Career Care Institute is authorized by the Dental Board of California to certify students in Coronal Polish, Radiation Safety and 8-hour Infection Control.
Students will also attain a Basic Life Support card from the American Heart Association. Upon graduation of the program, and 6 months of experience, you will be eligible to apply for the Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) Written, Practical and Law and Ethics California State Board exams. You not only receive your Coronal Polishing certificate but also your 8-hour Infection Control, Radiation Safety and BLS from Career Care Institute.

Career
Dental Assistants are often the face of the office and work closely with patients to help them feel comfortable, teach them proper oral health care, and prepare them for procedures. As a dental assistant (DA) you will practice how to provide direct patient care, take impressions, pour up study models, perform coronal polish and expose and develop dental x-rays.
Upon graduation, you may choose to work in facilities such as:
- General Dentistry
- Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
- Pedodontics (Pediatric Dentistry)
- Aesthetic Dentistry
- Orthodontics
